Duet with Django

A one minute duet with a friend sitting in a booth at the Free Times Cafe. Hands clasped, we craft a duet to Django Reinhardt who’s playing in the background. Unabashed table dancing, we get down to the rhythms. I let myself be led in a partner dance. Hands shuffling as if they were feet. Elbows lilting up, as if we are doing the jive. Joyous. Fun.

Alice is sitting on the desk watching me closely while I draw and waiting for any opportunity to catch the moving pencil in her mouth and feast on it. The night is cooling after a rainy day. Alice just licked my nose. She never does that.
