Hand dancing
5:30 p.m. A two minute hand dance while laying in bed with the flu. While lounging on my side, I reach my right hand up, and catch sight of it and its soft shadow reflected in the mirror across from me. I play with rhythmic gestures shaping my hand and its shadow. Furling and unfurling my palm. Activating my fingers. Sending energy up and out. I keep the dance up until all the blood drains out of my arm, and I have to bring my arm down. There’s a soft afternoon light coming into the room. It’s grey and overcast. Alice is downstairs. I struggle with the drawing. It think it’s because I’m so unwell.
