Throat opening
11:00 p.m. A 10 minute meditation sitting in my study. Eyes closed. Throat opening. Starting in stillness. Then feeling tiny figure eights begin to move me. Spiralling through my head and neck. Opening my throat. My throat feels hollow. Windswept. Tender. It opens, releasing the tensions gathered during this flu. (I had gone for a long walk today, in the bright sunshine, leaving the house for the first time since Monday. But the air was too cold for my tender nose and throat. My throat felt like it needed extra care.) I find stillness and calm. Alice sits quietly with me while I meditate. While I draw she cries out from the other room. While I type now she’s quite chatty. It was a cold clear night after a stunning sunny and cold day. Spring seems to have retreated for now.
