Breu

12:20 a.m. A 7 minute dance to two songs from the soundtrack to Breu, a piece that the Brazillian dance company Grupo Corpo performed last night at the Premier Dance Theatre. It was such a brilliant, violent, sensual, devastating piece. I move tonight with the memory of their thrashing, violent, raging bodies flickering through my own. The dance is first frenetic (to “Secular”), then deep and low (to “Psicofonia”), which is sombre with aching voices. The dance is physical and intense. Alice was downstairs. She’s here with me now and talkative. It was a gorgeous day (11 degrees Celsius!), sunny and all. It is an overcast night and cooling.
