One of several dances

7:30 – 8:00 p.m. Dancing at the Wednesday night jam. 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Dancing with with the Second Floor Collective. All together for the first time in a long time. It was so good to move together, creating improvisational scores and witnessing each other find new flights. We intra-animate. Improvising, enfleshing space all around. When I come home and draw, the dance I’m recording is a dance with a friend at the jam. So playful. So full of energy. Exploring different registers, valences for movement. The cellist creates such rich textures to move through/with/among. The thickness and viscosity of the sound was so palpable. In between dances with others, I just danced and danced and danced. Expanding and extending this newly articulated body. I walked all the way to dance tonight, lapping up the sunshine, moving Westbound into the sunlight. A nice long walk. Alice wants me to play now. It was a gorgeous day. And it’s a gorgeous night.
