The pull of water
9:30 p.m. A 5 minute sensing dance in the study. This body is so dehydrated. I can feel the pull of water molecules being drawn out of my cells and tissues. Diffusion has a force, a pull. I drink large gulps of cold tap water, but the gap between wet and dry, between water escaping my body and water flooding in, feels too wide. Water has deserted this body and replenishment is slow coming in. I move with this sensation. The gap has a elasticity. Emptying cells pause, expand and pull before they fill, gathering momentum to draw water in. My cells have mouths that open to suck water back in. Alice seems to be hunting invisible demons. It was a day full of sun and cooling grey clouds, and delightful almost-choreographed suprises.
