Moving with and being moved by
11:30 p.m. A 5 minute dance in the study. Playing with the feeling that comes when one is affectively entangled and moved by another. The dance is small and incurving. Rotations and counter rotations. Movements and counter movements. Hands, hips spiraling in and out of curving formations. At one point in the dance, Alice becomes the one who moves me. She calls out repeatedly during the dance. She knows I’m leaving. I go to Laurentian tomorrow to give a talk on this very phenomenon. I’m practicing drawing in a tiny travel sized sketchbook. I wonder if I’ll be able to post my drawings while I’m away. It was a sometimes cloudy, sometimes bright and shining day today.
