Bones
1:20 a.m. A 5 minute dance in the study. In Sensitive Chaos, Theodor Schwenk suggests that bone formations are growth forms that follow patterns of flowing water. But my bones creak. Shifting weight. Moving along the floor. Body pitched over. Hands and knees finding new pivots on the floor. Creaking knees. Knuckles. Taut muscles. Crackling into stretches into ease. Late night out with friends. Cool, clear night. The city is still so awake. Alice wants to play while I dance. Now she’s spooked by something on the porch.
