Prelude to the Solstice III: Still-point
10:30 p.m. A 6 minute dance in the study exploring “gestures of attunement.” Tuning in and through the text of Melissa Atkinson-Graham’s MA Thesis, “The Body in and of Cranialsacral Therapy: An Ethnographic Examination.” The dance curves and pulls between sacrum and cranium. A lifting energy integrates pelvis, throat, and limbs. One arm curves up and over, the other curves under. Body finds still-point as a resonating movement that in-gathers towards an energetic core. Returning again and again to this gesture. The thesis is beautiful. She defends tomorrow.
Alice sits in the hallway. We were infolded earlier on the study floor. The sun was hot and high today.
