Felix & Maxim
8:00 p.m. in Trinity-Bellwoods Park. Felix chases Maxim through the tall grasses. We’re in the bowl of the park where the dogs and their people gather to play. The boys compose a dance. Felix runs behind Maxim with a thin tree branch that dangles and dances over his brother’s head. The broken branch alights to the rhythms of his bouncing body. The boys are giggling. The Second Floor Collective dance as quartet in swerving and punctured curves that swoop upwards to take in the canopy of trees. We remark on the transformations of this park, the place where we first gathered to dance as a collective some 12 years ago. The day threatened rain but did not deliver. The sun kept peeking out from behind large, dark clouds. Alice is close with me while I draw.
I post the drawing the following evening
