Brooklyn Yard

3:30 pm – 6:00 pm.  Bands play at the Brooklyn Yard for an outdoor world music concert called “Is America Part of the World?” Dancers move to the rhythms of some amazing sounds. A man in a red shirt and straw fedora dances with bravura, swinging his partner around his wiry frame. His movements are vibrant. Perked and punctuating. Hers are round, low, quick and swerving. They alight the concrete dance floor. I catch the rhythms on the sidelines. The clouds are low, threatening rain. Thunder storms came in later.
