Fireflies in Stuyvesant Park

8:30-9:00 p.m. The fireflies come out as we sit in the grass by the water fountain in Stuyvesant Park in Manhattan. Hovering just in front of my eyes. Slow pulsings.  I cast my eyes across the dusk-lit lawn. Fireflies alight in synchrony lifting up out of the grasses.  Lifting, lighting, hovering.  City life is alive and the dew is rising.
