Starlit wind
Way after midnight, up the gravel driveway at Upaya. Dorion dances The Setting of the Big Dipper. Down on one knee and hand, his body arcs to the side, cupping the sky. I walk higher up the road to dance with other stars. The winds are what sweep me up. The dance is billowing, light filled, starry eyed. Sweeping. My back arcs and lilts, falling, lifting. Releasing breath. Billowing with the winds. The uneven ground lurches as I fall softly forward, my bearings lost in this sea of stars. The night is cooling. Shivers rise through chilling bodies.
