Swept up
10:30 p.m. walking down a street next to the Museum in Budapest. The crickets in the garden hum together. The first sign of animal liveliness in this city. I tune into the crickets and they shift my gait. Teetering in red heels, I get swept up by the tall London Plane trees that loom out onto the street over the tall fence of the Museum gardens. Today was 38 degrees celsius in the sun. No wind. Air heavy. Body slow.
