Half-lotus at ten
9:45 p.m. A 15 minute sitting meditation in the study. Seated facing east in half-lotus pose. Half a flower posture. Calming mind and spirit. Finding stillness in the fullness of mind movements. After some time, I hear distance bells chiming, signaling the top of the hour. Ten bells. Moving through them, I rise from lotus pose and stand facing west, rotating my body to the north. Opening, lifting and releasing to the other side. Heart rising. Flowering.
Alice is talkative, and now sitting on my lap as I post. It was a sunny, warm day and cooling night.
