Full-moon, dew rising
10:00 p.m. A 10 minute dance under the moon, out in the field behind the house in the country. Cornfields beyond. Moon so bright it is casting shadows. The dance lunges, reeling. Arms extending, arching. Sounds of water rushing behind (in the morning I discover that it is the poplar leaves rushing in the wind). Darkness, brightness, Mars glitters red-white. Sweeping skies. As I move I hear drumming off in the distance. The dance is an arrival.
A beautiful, sunny, late summer day.
