Performing Science

1:30-3:00 p.m. Swiveling in my chair during the wrap-up session of this conference. The room is wide and shallow, and people are spread thin along long tables. I swivel to participate, to listen in on and address others. The swerve of swiveling chairs carries our gestures from one side of the room to the other. Articulations get propagated in all directions. Reaching into understanding. Pivoting on ideas, swerving through thoughts. Lots of wonderful ideas are bubbling up around me. It was another sunny and warm day with billowing clouds.
