The wave pool

6:00 p.m. Watching bodies crashing up against the artificial waves in the outdoor wave pool at the Gelert Baths. The waves commence on the hour, each hour. People throng to the pool. I watch from above before I step down into the fray. People lifted, crashing, tumbling. Girls clamber up the sides of the pool each time a wave buoys them upward. It was hot, hot, hot again today as I explored this stunning city. I go home to Toronto tomorrow. It has been a long journey.
